Kavya Limaye comes from Vadodara, Gujarat, and grew up in a family where music was the day job. Her father, Sachin Limaye, is a Gujarati singer, composer and music director; her mother, Ashita Limaye, is also a professional singer.

As a child she spent evenings backstage at her parents' ghazal concerts, which she has credited with shaping her feel for poetry and melody. Both parents remain part of her work: her father composes for her, and the three often share the stage at garba nights.

Her first national audience came through the blind auditions of The Voice India Kids on &TV. She joined Team Neeti under coach Neeti Mohan, reached the six-contestant grand finale, and on 23 October 2016 finished as a runner-up alongside Pooja Insa.

The two runners-up recorded ‘Raama’ together for Universal Music India the following March, her first release.

2022 opened several doors at once. She sang the title song and ‘Bas Ek Tu’ for the Gujarati film Hello Zindagi, recorded ‘Krishna’ live with Deepak Pandit and the Budapest Symphony Orchestra for Sufiscore, and walked into the on-ground auditions of Indian Idol 13 with ‘Agar Mujhse Mohabbat Hai’.

On the show she made the Top 15, Top 12 and Top 10. On one episode her mother joined her on stage, and judge Himesh Reshammiya promised to record a song with them both. She left on 8 January 2023 in a double elimination, in 9th place.

The promise became ‘Merii Maa’, released in December 2022 with Ashita Limaye on Himesh Reshammiya's label. Six more Hindi singles followed through August 2023, among them ‘Teri Aankhein’, ‘Guldasta’ and ‘Tumhari Baatein Karnaa’.

In 2025 he cast her as his duet partner on ‘Aaj Mehfil Mein’ for his film Badass Ravi Kumar.

With the London label Sufiscore she has built a second, quieter career in orchestral ghazal. After ‘Krishna’ came two tracks on a live album recorded at Budapest's Liszt Academy, four of the six tracks on Saregama's Boundless Melodies, and duets with Ustaad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan: ‘Tere Bin Nahi Lagda’ and ‘Meri Sanson Mein Basa Hai’, now her most-watched recordings.

In February 2026 she released Nuqoosh, three ghazals composed by her father with poetry mostly by Ajay Sahaab. A month later she opened for Rahat Fateh Ali Khan at the Royal Albert Hall in London, singing from it.

Her other stage is the garba circle. She has recorded Navratri songs such as ‘Popat Betho’, composed by her father, and ‘Ramo Re’ with Jigardan Gadhavi, and she headlines garba nights for Gujarati communities abroad, often with her parents.

Documented dates run from a ten-night Navratri in London in 2023, through ‘Chogada Tara’ tours across the United States in 2024 and 2025, to Sydney and Melbourne in 2026.

She is now based in Mumbai, where her October 2025 concert at NMACC was reported as her debut concert in the city. Her most recent release is ‘Tu Javab De’ with Teenu Arora (July 2026), and Navratri 2026 has taken her back to garba stages across the United States.
